When we moved to Maryland we decided that we wanted a goat because we had some land and we thought that it would just be a really funny pet to have.  So we finally found a goat, Billy Bob, and it was this goat that had been raised by some Amish people I believe.

Hello Billy Bob

He had been raised with dogs its whole life so I think it kind of thought that it was a dog. We show up, all excited and ready to go in our minivan and we take this goat away from its dog family.  We take it back to the house and it’s quickly apparent this goat had issues from the beginning; it was aggressive, and I just think it was bitter that we took it away from its family.

It got to the point where the goat, Billy Bob, who I named, had to be kind of tied up outside on a chain near his little shed that he had because whenever we would come outside he would try and attack us.  There was one day in particular I remember that Stephanie was outside with the goat, it tried to ram her with its horns and was spraying her with its little nasty musk stuff so I had to grab it grab it by its horns and scream at Stephanie to run in the house before I wrenched his head to the side and ran in the house myself.

Goodbye Billy Bob

Then one day Mom came to pick us up from school (maybe it was Dad I can’t remember but I think it was Mom) and she said,  “hey you guys Billy Bob is dead.”  Unfortunately, none of us were actually that upset about it.  It was kind of more of a relief than anything.  But then we found out how Billy Bob had died.

Apparently he had gotten off of his chain and he was next door in the neighbor’s front yard, who had some fake deer in his front yard. Billy Bob started like having a good time with the fake deer, you know, because he was frustrated so he was doing his thing with the deer.

Then our neighbor, Mr. Connelly who is a butcher he ran a butcher shop out of his shed or garage. So our neighbor comes outside and Billy Bob tried to like ram him or attack him and so our neighbor just he shot him and so that was the end of Billy Bob. Then we buried him in the backyard and you know with our pet cemetery and that was the end of Billy Bob and it was I think for the best for everybody but it was kind of funny how he died.
